Contact Us

To help simplify things, please use these three ways of communication in the future. Please use the email address for Marva that is on the neighborhood contact list and see the diagram below for how alerts get out.

If possible, please try to send your information immediately after an incident.  If you're responding to an alert about something you [also] saw, it may be too late to put out your information.  Sending out two or three Alerts on the same subject will only cause people to stop reading our Alerts and informational emails. Some alerts, may be posted on on crime and sightings page available through the tabbed navigation above.

Please enter Marva's email address in your contacts for quick access in reporting crimes.  You'll be notified when there is a change to whom to report crime. In the meantime, also please contact your street coordinators. Add their email address to your contacts as well.

It seems we're getting off to a safe, slow start this year.  Good news is that no crime has been reported.  There was a malicious mischief incident reported on Ben Lomond. Garbage cans were broken, which caused a fence to be damaged.  The actual cause is unknown but drunk driving was suspected.

There are still cars driving our streets in the wee hours of the morning.  Be aware.  Car burglaries are being reported around the perimeter of our area.  Make sure nothing is left inside your vehicles if they must be left outside.  Always lock the car.

With beautiful weather and spring approaching we'll see an increase in solicitors coming into our neighborhood.  DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION, ask for I.D. and proof that their business is legit.  Kids, using our names that they've gotten from mailboxes, are pretending to be grandchildren of neighbors, asking for money and selling phony magazines or services.  DON'T BECOME A VICTIM.  Warn your neighbors!

Technology is Your Friend.  Subtly use your cell phone to take pictures if suspicious people and vehicles.  It can be used in our crime alerts and by the Sheriff.

The best way to prevent crime is to be aware of who is on your street.  Tell your neighbors (especially across from you) if you'll be away.  Watch your neighbor's house if they're away.  Watch for anything unusual and pay attention to strange cars on your street.  If you feel threatened, call the Sheriff at 874-5115 then send the information to me so I can send out an alert to the community.

2013 GUIDELINES
 WHEN REPORTING CRIME and EMERGENCIES
  • First contact the Sheriff (874-5111) or call 911
  • Next email Marva or call if it's urgent (see phone list) put CRIME ALERT in the subject area
  • Marva will contact the entire community via email.
  • Marva will contact Valerie to put it on our website.

PERSONAL SITUATIONS - NON EMERGENCIES
  • Try to handle situations on your own first.
  • Use the Guidelines we've put in place.
  • Reread the Safety Tips.
  • Check our website for phone numbers or other information.
  • Report back to us how you handled your situation so we can add your information to the website as a resource for others.

WHEN REPORTING NON EMERGENCIES
  • Direct your questions to your Street Coordinator
  • Contact your Street Coordinator with a situation.
Your Street Coordinators have agreed (when possible) to check their emails once per day and will try to respond to you within 24 hours.  This is for NON Emergencies only.

Due to the numbers and varieties of emails that were coming to Marva, each Street Coordinator will now become more involved with their neighbors on their respective streets.  They will be sending you a separate email.

NEIGHBOR NETWORK
  • If you have something you want to sell, buy, trade, or whatever your message...write exactly what you want to say and send it to Marva.  She will forward it to the entire community.  Note:  Marva will not edit or rewrite your information.  It must be ready to forward when it is sent through our Neighbor Network.

We hope this will be an improvement to our N/W program.  It will certainly make it easier on those of us who are volunteering our time.  We're here to help facilitate safety and awareness in our community.  Watch for future emails with new information and check this website for updates.
